Mines and Processing
Mines
Approximately 85 percent of the talc ore mined from open pit mines utilizing standard mining techniques. Magnesite and carbonate are the main host rocks of talc deposits. At the mine site, selective mining techniques are used to minimize more host rock contamination and to produce primarily ore in lump sizes. The extracted talc dumps are manually separated at mine sites to eliminate host rocks and other contaminated particles to the greatest extent practicable.
The partiality segregated talc in then shift to Salar Mineral processing plant where it is sorting into different sizes from 0-1cm, 1-3cm, 3-6cm and 6-12cm, and after manual segregation is conducting to remove host and other rocks contamination if present. Natural mine powder, chips, and lumps talc are packaged separately in large bags. Talc ore should be cleaned and packed properly to retain purity and avoid contamination.
